These terms are the agreement between you and BB Dev Ltd (“we”, “us”), the company that runs Taskr. Please read them before you use Taskr. If you use Taskr for a business, you agree to them for that business and confirm you are allowed to.
Some parts apply differently depending on whether you are a consumer (an individual using Taskr mainly outside a trade, business, craft or profession) or a business customer. Where that matters, we say so. If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms takes away your rights under UK consumer law.
1. Who we are
BB Dev Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales, company number 13860234. Our registered office is 24 Scotts Road, Bromley, England, BR1 3QD. We are not VAT registered. You can contact us at contact@bbdev.app.
2. What these terms cover
They cover the hosted Taskr service we run:
- the web app at taskr-app.bbdev.app;
- the API at taskr-api.bbdev.app and the MCP server at taskr-mcp.bbdev.app, which coding agents connect to;
- Taskr for iOS;
- the Taskr plugin for Claude Code, when it is connected to our service;
- the website at taskr.bbdev.app.
Together we call these “the service”. Other documents form part of these terms:
- the Acceptable use policy, which says what you may not do;
- the Privacy policy, which explains how we handle personal data;
- for business customers, the Data processing agreement;
- the plan and prices shown on the pricing page when you subscribe.
If Taskr is running on someone else’s server (a self-hosted copy), these terms do not apply to it; the person running that server sets the terms.
3. Who can use Taskr
- You must be 16 or older
[[TO CONFIRM: minimum age 16, or 13 with parental consent]]. - You must give us a real email address you control, or sign in with a GitHub account that is yours.
- You must not use Taskr if we have closed your account before for breaking these terms, unless we agree.
4. Accounts, workspaces and agents
- Signing in. You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email, or with GitHub. There are no passwords. Keep your email account and GitHub account secure: anyone who can read your email can sign in as you.
- Workspaces. Work in Taskr happens in workspaces. The person who creates a workspace is its first owner. Owners and admins control who joins, what roles people have, which integrations are connected and whether the workspace is exported or deleted. If you join a workspace that belongs to a business, that business controls the workspace and its content, and its own arrangements with you (for example your employment contract) apply as well as these terms.
- Agents. You can connect coding agents (for example Claude Code or Codex) to Taskr through the MCP server or the API, and you can assign issues to remote agents. Every agent acts under the account of the person who connected or assigned it, and with no more access than that person has. You are responsible for what your agents do in Taskr, as if you had done it yourself. Review what an agent may do before you approve it, and revoke its access when you no longer need it.
- API keys and service accounts. Treat them like passwords. You are responsible for anything done with a key you created until you revoke it.
- Tell us straight away at contact@bbdev.app if you think someone has got into your account.
5. Acceptable use
You must follow the Acceptable use policy. In short: nothing unlawful, nothing that infringes other people’s rights, no attacks on Taskr or others, no abuse of sandboxes or remote agents, and no overloading the service.
6. Your content
“Your content” means what you and your agents put into Taskr: issues, comments, documents, attachments, evidence and recordings, planning sessions, feedback, and data Taskr reads from repositories you connect.
- You own your content. We claim no ownership of it.
- You give us permission to use it to run the service. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, copy, process, transmit and display your content, and to pass it to our subprocessors, only as needed to provide, secure and support the service for you and to follow the law. This includes sending it to AI model providers when you or your workspace use an AI feature (section 8). The licence ends when your content is deleted from the service, apart from copies in backups until they expire.
- We do not use your content to train AI models. The AI features we run (section 8) only use model endpoints that OpenRouter lists as keeping no copy of the data. Remote agents are different: they run under your workspace’s own Anthropic key and agreement (section 7). See the Privacy policy.
- You are responsible for your content: that you have the right to put it in Taskr, that it follows the law and the Acceptable use policy, and, where it includes other people’s personal data, that you have a lawful basis to share it with us.
- We may remove or disable content that we reasonably believe breaks these terms or the law (section 13).
7. Integrations and third-party services
Taskr connects to services run by others. Their own terms apply to your use of them, and we are not responsible for them.
- GitHub. You can sign in with GitHub, and a workspace can install our GitHub App on repositories so Taskr can link issues to branches and pull requests and read changes. Remote agents push branches and open draft pull requests through a GitHub App. You choose which repositories to install it on, and you can remove it in GitHub at any time.
- Anthropic (Claude). Remote agents run on Claude using your workspace’s own Anthropic API key. Requests made with that key are between your workspace and Anthropic, under your agreement with Anthropic, and Anthropic bills you directly. Agents you run yourself (such as Claude Code on your computer) are covered by your own agreement with their provider, not by us.
- OpenRouter. Taskr’s AI features use AI models through OpenRouter, with our key or a key your workspace adds. A key your workspace adds is billed by OpenRouter to you.
- Webhooks. If you set up webhooks, we send the events you chose to the address you gave. You are responsible for that endpoint.
If a third party changes or stops its service, the matching part of Taskr may stop working. We will tell you if we can.
8. AI features and their output
Taskr includes features that use AI models: suggested documentation changes when an issue closes, a planning facilitator, feedback themes and suggested ideas, and remote agents that change code and open pull requests.
- AI suggests; people decide. AI output can be wrong, incomplete, out of date or insecure, and can look confident when it is wrong. Check it before you rely on it. Suggested doc changes wait for a person to review them; pull requests opened by remote agents are drafts for a person to review and merge.
- Code written by agents is your responsibility once you merge it. Test it and review it, as you would code from a new colleague.
- We do not promise that AI output is unique, free of third-party rights, or fit for a
particular purpose. As far as we are concerned, output generated for your workspace is your
content.
[[TO CONFIRM: wording on ownership of AI output, checked against the model providers' terms]] - Owners and admins can turn AI features off for a workspace in Settings → AI.
9. Plans, fees and payment
[[TO CONFIRM: this section needs the payment provider decision (Stripe is built but not connected) and the final plan names and prices before any paid plan is sold]]
- Free plan. The Free plan costs nothing. Its limits are shown on the pricing page and in the app (for example the number of members, storage and sandbox minutes).
- Paid plans. Paid plans are priced per person per month as shown on the pricing page when you
subscribe
[[TO CONFIRM: plan names (the site says Team and Enterprise; the app says Pro and Business), price, currency (the site shows US dollars), and whether yearly billing is offered]]. Guests, agents and service accounts do not count as people for billing. - Card payments are not available yet. Until they are, we may agree a paid plan with you in writing and invoice you.
- How billing works once card payments start
[[TO CONFIRM: payment provider]]:- You pay in advance for each billing period. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
- The number of people billed follows the number of members in the workspace. When members are
added or removed during a period, the charge is adjusted in proportion
[[TO CONFIRM: proration, as built]]. - We are not VAT registered, so our prices do not include VAT. If we register, we will tell you before VAT is added.
- If a payment fails, the workspace keeps its plan while the payment provider retries. If payment still fails, the workspace moves to the Free plan’s limits. We do not delete your content because a payment failed; over-limit workspaces keep what they have but cannot add more until they upgrade or reduce their use.
- Price changes. We will tell owners by email at least
[[TO CONFIRM: 30 days]]before a price rise takes effect. It applies from your next billing period. You can cancel before then. - Cancelling a subscription. Owners can cancel at any time
[[TO CONFIRM: in Settings → Billing through the payment provider's portal]]. The plan stays until the end of the period you have paid for, then the workspace moves to the Free plan. Apart from the consumer rights below, we do not refund part periods[[TO CONFIRM: refund policy]].
Consumers: your right to cancel within 14 days
If you are a consumer and you buy a paid plan online, you have the right to cancel within 14 days of the day you subscribe, without giving a reason (Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013).
- Taskr is a service. When you subscribe, we will ask whether you want the paid plan to start straight away, within the 14 days. If you ask us to start straight away and then cancel within the 14 days, we will refund what you paid minus a proportionate amount for the service you received up to when you told us you were cancelling.
- If you do not ask us to start straight away, the paid plan starts after the 14 days.
- To cancel, email contact@bbdev.app with a clear statement that you are cancelling, or use the
model cancellation form
[[TO CONFIRM: provide the model form from Schedule 3 of the Regulations, and an in-product cancel route]]. We refund within 14 days of your telling us, to the payment method you used. - These rules apply to each new paid subscription.
[[TO CONFIRM: whether the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 subscription rules (reminders before renewal, a renewal cooling-off period, easy exit) are in force at launch, and what this section must add for them]]
10. Availability and support
- We work to keep Taskr available and to fix problems quickly, but we do not promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may need to take it down for maintenance, usually with notice.
- There is no service level agreement on the Free plan.
[[TO CONFIRM: whether any paid plan has an SLA; drafted as none unless agreed in writing]] - Support is by email at contact@bbdev.app. We answer as soon as we reasonably can.
- We may change the service, add features, and remove features. If we remove something that matters to a paid plan, we will tell you in advance and you may cancel. Taskr is in active development and some features are marked as previews; they may change or stop.
11. Exporting and deleting your data
- Workspace export. Owners and admins can export a whole workspace as a zip file (Settings → Workspace → Export data) at any time, within the plan’s export interval.
- Personal data. You can ask for a copy of your personal data, or for it to be deleted, as
described in the Privacy policy.
[[TO CONFIRM: self-service account deletion and personal data export once they land]] - Deleting a workspace.
[[TO CONFIRM: owners can delete a workspace; it is kept for 30 days in case of mistakes and then deleted for good, as built]]
12. Ending this agreement
- You can stop using Taskr at any time. To end the agreement, ask us to delete your account
at contact@bbdev.app
[[TO CONFIRM: or delete it yourself in Settings → Profile once self-service deletion lands]]. If you own a workspace that others use, hand ownership to someone else or delete the workspace first. Paid subscriptions follow section 9. - We can end the agreement or close a free account by giving you at least
[[TO CONFIRM: 30 days']]notice by email, for example if we stop offering the service. If we stop offering a paid plan, we refund any amount you paid for time after it ends. - We can suspend or close an account or workspace straight away if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms or the Acceptable use policy, if you do not pay, if we must to follow the law, or if your use puts the service or others at risk. Where it is reasonable, we tell you first and give you a chance to fix it.
- After it ends: unless we closed the account because of serious misuse or the law stops us,
owners have
[[TO CONFIRM: 30 days]]to export the workspace before we delete it. We then delete your content as set out in the Privacy policy’s retention table. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as ownership, liability and governing law) continue to apply.
13. Our intellectual property
Taskr, its software, design, name and logo belong to BB Dev Ltd or our licensors. We give you a
personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service under these terms while they
apply. These terms do not give you any other rights in Taskr.
[[TO CONFIRM: the licence under which Taskr's source code is published for self-hosting; the repository has no LICENSE file]]
Open-source software in Taskr is used under its own licences [[TO CONFIRM: link to the list of open-source licences once the licence audit lands]].
Feedback. If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them freely without paying you or owing you anything. This does not give us any rights in your content.
14. Our responsibility for loss or damage
If you are a consumer
- We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. Loss is foreseeable if it is obvious it would happen, or if we both knew it might happen when you started using Taskr.
- We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so. That includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and for breaking your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, for example that the service is supplied with reasonable care and skill and as described.
- We supply Taskr for private use. If you use it for a business, we have no liability to you for loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption or loss of business opportunity.
If you are a business customer
- Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law.
- Subject to that, we are not liable for: loss of profits, revenue, business, goodwill or anticipated savings; loss or corruption of data, where a reasonable backup or export would have prevented it; or any indirect or consequential loss.
- Subject to that, our total liability to you for all claims in any 12-month period, whether in
contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise, is limited to
[[TO CONFIRM: the cap, e.g. the greater of the fees paid in the 12 months before the claim and a fixed amount; and for the Free plan]]. [[TO CONFIRM: whether data protection claims under the DPA have a separate cap]]- Except as set out in these terms, the service is provided without warranties, conditions or other terms implied by statute or common law, as far as the law allows.
15. Events outside our control
We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control,
such as failures of the internet, power, our hosting or other suppliers, attacks, or natural
events. We will tell you if one affects the service and do what we reasonably can to limit the
effect. If it lasts more than [[TO CONFIRM: 30 days]], either of us may end a paid plan and
we refund any amount paid for time not provided.
16. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms, for example to reflect changes to Taskr or the law. We will post the
new version here with its date. For a change that matters to you, we will email account owners
at least [[TO CONFIRM: 30 days]] before it applies, unless the change is needed sooner for
legal or security reasons. If you do not agree to a change, you can stop using Taskr and close
your account before it applies; if you have a paid plan, we refund any amount paid for time
after the change applies.
17. General
- Transfer. We may transfer our rights and duties under these terms to another organisation, for example if our business is sold. We will tell you, and make sure the transfer will not reduce your rights. You may not transfer yours without our written agreement.
- Nobody else has rights under these terms. The Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 does not apply.
- If a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest still applies.
- If we do not enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- Entire agreement (business customers). These terms, with the documents in section 2, are the whole agreement between us about the service and replace earlier discussions. Nothing in this clause limits liability for fraudulent misrepresentation.
- Notices. We send notices to the email address on your account (or the workspace owners’ addresses). You send notices to contact@bbdev.app.
18. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
- Consumers: you can bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland, you can also bring them in Scotland; if you live in Northern Ireland, also in Northern Ireland. If you have a complaint, please contact us first at contact@bbdev.app so we can try to put it right.
- Business customers: the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
